Michael McCabe spoke on the ethical risks of “dabbling” in trademark law during a 1-hour ethics CLE on July 18, 2022 to a large virtual audience hosted by the ABA Center for Professional Responsibility (ABA-CPR). Michael was joined by co-presenter and moderator Tracy L. Kepler, Risk Control Consulting Director for CNA’s Lawyer’s Professional Liability Insurance Program. The presentation–Trademarkable Risks–A Primer on Ethics for the Occasional IP Practitioner–addressed ethics and risk management issues for non-IP lawyers who step out of their comfort zone and practice in trademark matters before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). This well-received program is also available for On-Demand CLE credit by clicking on the ABA website here.
